Ralph Hasenhuttl is set to be joined by Danny Rohl in his new job at Southampton, according to a report from the Telegraph.

The Austrian manager is in line to be confirmed as the new Saints boss on Wednesday morning after the club opened talks with him following Mark Hughes’ sacking on Monday.

Hasenhuttl enjoyed success at RB Leipzig and worked within a complex infrastructure from the top brass down to the coaching staff.

With Hughes’ dismissal, assistant managers Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki were also given their marching orders, leaving the management duties to Kelvin Davis on an interim basis.

However, it is claimed by the Telegraph that Hasenhuttl will call on his old colleague Rohl following the pair’s time together at Leipzig.

The 29-year-old acted as an assistant boss to the incoming Saints manager for the duration of last season following his impressive work with video analysis at the German club.

Rohl is stated to be the only member from Hasenhuttl’s tenure at Leipzig who will join him in his new challenge at St Mary’s Stadium.
