Southampton are set to make a decision on the future of manager Mark Hughes after their clash against Fulham this weekend, the Daily Mail reports.

Mark Hughes is under increasing pressure at Southampton and the club’s chiefs are ready to give Hughes the sack should they lose to Fulham.

With the Saints sitting near the foot of the Premier League table, the club’s chiefs are weary of making a managerial change late on in the season as they did with Mauricio Pellegrino last term.

The club believe they should have opted to fire Pellegrino sooner than they did last campaign after leaving him in charge until March when the club were just one point away from the drop zone,

The Southampton hierarchy are keen to see a quick turn around in results, with club chiefs believing that the squad is far better than the 17th place that they currently occupy in the league.

The Saints have games again Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur coming up after the Fulham clash and so will be desperate to take some points away from the London club this weekend.
