Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster has been lined up as a potential January target by Stoke City, according to claims from Football Insider.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order at St Mary’s Stadium this year. Alex McCarthy is now the club’s first-choice ‘keeper and Angus Gunn’s summer arrival has left the 30-year-old with little hope of a future with the Saints.
However, a potential escape route from Southampton could be provided by Stoke if reports are to be believed.

Potters goalkeeper Jack Butland is believed to still be high in demand among Premier League clubs, indicating that should Gary Rowett’s side opt to cash-in on the player, a replacement will be required.
Stoke are weighing up their options, Football Insider claim, and Forster is among those under consideration.
The former Celtic star has not made a single appearance for Southampton this season and is believed to have been offered to various clubs across Europe during the summer transfer window.
