Southampton are considering an approach to re-hire Paul Mitchell as they try and find a replacement for former football director Les Reed.
The Telegraph reports that a move to bring Mitchell back to the Premier League could be on the club’s agenda as part of the latest changes behind the scenes at St Mary’s.

Mitchell, now in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, is very highly thought of in the game and remains a widely respected figure at Southampton.
He previously worked as the club’s director of recruitment but followed Mauricio Pochettino to Spurs when the Argentinian left the club.
Mitchell continued to impress at Spurs, playing a big role in their bid to sign Dele Alli among other key first-team players.
RB Leipzig spotted his talent and wanted to bring him to the Bundesliga, using his English connections to try and sign British-based players.
Manchester United have also recently been linked with a move to hire Mitchell.
