Southampton are reportedly interested in Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg.
It’s claimed in a report from Calciomercato that the Saints are the latest club to have expressed an interest in signing the player, who has previously been courted by Napoli.
Dolberg has long been coveted as one of Europe’s most promising young forwards and Southampton are reported to have joined the race ahead of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for Ajax this season. From seven Eredivisie appearances, with five coming as starts, Dolberg has found the net on five occasions.

Southampton are struggling in front of goal this season and find themselves dangerously low on the Premier League table in 16th place.
The Saints have a plethora of strikers at their disposal but have still encountered goalscoring woes this term, with Danny Ings the only forward to display a level of consistency.
Manolo Gabbiadini continues to be linked with a return to Italy and it seems Shane Long will be sidelined for some weeks yet as he recovers from an ankle injury, indicating that a January swoop for a striker may be on Mark Hughes’ mind.
