Southampton transfer target Gary Cahill is set to leave Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are ready to send Cahill out on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

Maurizio Sarri is set to sanction the deal, with Cahill not in his plans going forward for the rest of the campaign.

David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger have been Sarri’s first choice partnership at the back, with Andreas Christensen waiting in the wings as third choice.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge, Cahill has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup, one Champions League and one Europa League title.

Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Manchester United are all also said to be holding an interest in the former England international.
