Lazio are keen to sign Manolo Gabbiadini from Southampton in the January transfer window, according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it.
The striker has been heavily linked with a move to Bologna ahead of the upcoming transfer window but Lazio are the latest club to be touted as a potential destination.
Gabbiadini has found himself in and out of the team this season under Mark Hughes and was excluded from the matchday squad entirely on Sunday, as Saints were defeated 6-1 by Manchester City.
The Italy international has often reiterated his desire to prove himself at St Mary’s Stadium but is understood to be growing ever frustrated with the limited amount of opportunities he is being presented with.
This has led Calciomercato.it to believe that Southampton have made Gabbiadini available for a January loan.
It’s reported that the Saints will accept an initial loan fee worth between €2 million to €3 million, with a potential option to buy at the end of the season set at a price of only €13 million.
Southampton have a plethora of strikers at their disposal and Gabbiadini does not appear to be high up in Hughes’ current pecking order.
Lazio director Igli Tare is a known admirer of Gabbiadini’s qualities and ahead of the January transfer window, it’s reported that he is prepared to make another move for the Saints star.
