Fulham are set to reignite their interest in Southampton defender Matt Targett during the January transfer window.
The London Evening Standard reports that the Cottagers are looking to strengthen defensively and will prepare a move for the player who previously enjoyed a spell on loan at the club.
Fulham tried to sign the defender permanently in the summer off the back of their promotion to the Premier League.
The report claims that Targett, who has once again fallen out of favour at Southampton, is keen to return to the London club after impressing on loan there.
Southampton refused to sell the player, despite turning down numerous offers from the Premier League new boys.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s men were willing to spend as much as £15 million to sign the player in the summer, but it is yet to be seen how much they would be ready to pay in the new year.
