Fraser Forster reportedly rejected a move to Turkey during the summer, as his future at Southampton remains murky.
Dropped for Alex McCarthy in December of 2017, Forster had been linked with a move away from St Mary’s in the summer transfer window.
Several clubs had been suggested as potential destinations for the shot-stopper, including Super Lig outfit Besiktas.
According to a report in the Mirror (covered by HITC), Southampton had a deal in place with the Turkish giants to send Forster out on loan, but it was the goalkeeper himself who blocked the move.
Forster, a former England international, was not even named on the bench for last weekend’s 2-0 victory away to Crystal Palace.
Seemingly bereft of a future on the south coast, Forster may be compelled to look elsewhere to find regular minutes in between the sticks.
However, it appears as though that is unlikely to be outside the UK.
