Southampton saw a summer move for LOSC Lille star Nicolas Pepe rejected, according to claims from France Football.
The Saints were believed to have been keen on the Ivory Coast international, with the latest reports from France claiming that the club had submitted a proposal worth €14 million to Lille.
However, this offer was deemed to be insufficient by the Ligue 1 club, who took no time in declining Southampton’s seemingly derisory opening bid for Pepe.

The 23-year-old appears to be a man in demand this summer, with Lille still looking to resist offers for their impressive wide man.
In fact, it’s stated by France Football that Sevilla are ready to act on their apparent interest in the Ivorian winger, with the club willing to spend up to €25 million on the player.
Sevilla are not the only prestigious European club in the race to sign Pepe, though, with it being reported that AS Roma are monitoring the player’s situation at Lille.
