Jannik Vestergaard is set to hold talks with Southampton this week ahead of his move to the club.
According to Sky Sports, Vestergaard completed his medical with Southampton on Tuesday, and is now set to discuss personal terms.
The report claims that Southampton expect the deal to be finalised by the start of next week.
Vestergaard has been heavily linked with a move to Southampton over the summer and now looks set to finally complete his switch from the Bundesliga.
Southampton agreed a £18m fee with Borussia Monchengladbach last week for the Danish international, who made 32 appearances in the Bundesliga last season.
Mark Hughes is keen to strengthen his defensive options and is also thought to be closing in on a move for Barcelona defender Marlon in a deal worth £12m.
Vestergaard could become Southampton’s second signing of the week, after the club announced the arrival of Angus Gunn from Manchester City on Tuesday on a five-year deal.
