Southampton are negotiating a deal to sign promising Real Madrid youngster Pedro Paulo Lubamba, according to an exclusive report from Pete O’Rourke for Football Insider.

The 15-year-old has reportedly been involved in Saints’ Under-18 team’s pre-season training in recent times, with the club hoping to secure a deal for the prospect.

It’s stated that Lubamba has been impressing the youth coaches at Staplewood during his short spell at the club so far, leading them to push on in their efforts to sign the player permanently.

Liga NOS giants Benfica and Porto are noted in the report as two clubs who have made their move for Lubamba already, but it’s believed that Saints are currently at the front of the queue for his signature.

Saints will be able to sanction a deal for the Real Madrid starlet in September when he turns 16, and it seems they are edging ever closer to signing the left winger from the Spanish giants’ academy.
