Southampton will sign Marlon Santos from Barcelona in the near future, according to claims from Spanish news outlet Diario SPORT.
The Saints are chasing the signature of a new central defender this summer and if reports from Spain are to be believed, the club have pipped West Ham to the acquisition of Marlon.
Having enjoyed an impressive season on loan at OGC Nice, the defender is set to be offloaded by Barcelona and it seems Southampton will be the centre-back’s next destination.

Marlon is reportedly set to join Southampton for a sum worth €12 million, along with additional bonuses.
The player’s representatives have long been pushing for a move away from Camp Nou after Marlon found first-team opportunities with the Catalan club extremely hard to come by.
It seems Southampton have finally found their replacement for Virgil van Dijk following his departure from the club in the January transfer window, with Marlon likely to join Mark Hughes’ side.
