Southampton reportedly lodge bid for Jannik Vestergaard
Southampton have reportedly submitted a bid for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Jannik Vestergaard.
The towering central defender has impressed for some time now in the Bundesliga and it seems interest from the Premier League is building, with journalist Pete O’Rourke claiming that Saints and Everton are keen.

Vestergaard is an established international for Denmark and is a key player for his club, meaning that a deal will not come cheaply for potential suitors this summer.
Southampton are on the lookout for a new central defender following their failure to recruit a replacement for Virgil van Dijk in the January transfer window.
Saints’ defensive frailties were there for all to see throughout last season and it seems Mark Hughes will see his options bolstered this summer, with the club aiming to land more quality for the backline.
Vestergaard, 25, started 32 games for Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga last term and displayed a threat from set-pieces, too, scoring on three occasions.
