Sam McQueen is set to stay at Southampton for at least another season, following the hushing of rumours the 23-year-old was set to join Bristol City.
The defender made eight appearances for the Saints last season, including two starts.
On the periphery of the squad, McQueen was given the nod just twice by Mark Hughes since the Welshman took over the reigns in March.

Suggestions had linked the left-back to Ashton gate, but Bristol Live report today that McQueen won’t be joining the Robins just yet.
Bristol City said goodbye to left full-back Hordur Magnusson earlier this week as the Icelandic international left for CSKA Moscow and have been linked with various players to fill the void left by departure.
Whether another team decides to take a run at the overlooked prospect will be made apparent in the coming weeks.
With captain Ryan Bertrand keeping McQueen on the sideline, Southampton may choose to cash in on the still-youthful prodigy.
