Reports from the Netherlands have suggested that Dusan Tadic is close to being confirmed as an Ajax player.
The experienced playmaker has long been linked with a return to the Eredivisie and according to leading Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Ajax have agreed a deal with Southampton and personal terms with Tadic over a transfer.
Tadic, who is under contract at St Mary’s Stadium until the summer of 2020, played an instrumental role under Mark Hughes near the end of last season as Southampton narrowly avoided relegation.
However, it seems that the former FC Twente star could be heading back to the Netherlands, with a deal claimed to be worth €17.1 million having been agreed, if reports are to be believed.

De Telegraaf claim that Ajax’s financial director Jeroen Slop and sporting director Marc Overmars flew to Southampton in recent times to close a deal for Tadic, with personal terms having apparently been agreed already.
Time will tell as to whether or not these reports are correct, but for now, Tadic will be focusing on helping his native Serbia progress to the knockout stages of the World Cup in Russia.
The report states that a deal for Tadic is likely to be confirmed ‘in the coming days’.
