Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Amadou Haidara from Red Bull Salzburg.
It’s claimed by the Mirror that Saints have identified the promising midfielder as a potential target as they continue to plan for the future.
However, Haidara did only recently put pen to paper on a new deal with Salzburg, implying that a deal this summer would be rather tricky to achieve for any potential suitors.
Haidara enjoyed a breakthrough season in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg and was a regular fixture in the side’s Europa League campaign.

The Mali international is reportedly valued at a sum of £15 million by his current club and has been eyed by a host of clubs across Europe in recent times, with Tottenham Hotspur having also been linked with a move.
Haidara, who is naturally a central midfield player, was vital for Red Bull Salzburg as they won the top-flight in Austria. Marco Rose’s men will hope to retain the youngster’s services, especially after tying him down to a new deal, but interest from the Premier League could be of interest to the player.
Southampton are yet to make a signing this summer, but speculation continues to mount with regards to which players they may aim to recruit.
