Southampton are reportedly considering a swoop for Club Brugge forward Anthony Limbombe.
It’s claimed by Belgian news outlet HLN that the Saints are among a host of clubs who have expressed an interest in the player, who could be set to leave his homeland of Belgium this summer. Huddersfield Town, however, are noted to have made the first move in the race to recruit the player.
Limbombe is capable of playing as a natural striker but is also an adept winger, and it seems his versatility and recent form have caught the eye of many.
The 23-year-old is a wanted man, though, and Saints will need to fend off competition from all across Europe if they are to pursue a deal for the Club Brugge forward.
It’s stated in HLN’s report that Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and FC Schalke 04 are also in the race for Limbombe and would be able to offer him European football.
Ligue 1 giants Marseille are also touted as a potential destination, while Southampton’s fellow Premier League competitors Newcastle are noted as an interested party.
