Southampton and Leicester City have reportedly had bids for James Maddison accepted by Norwich City – but the Foxes look set to win the race.
Saints have been heavily linked with a swoop for the England Under-21 international in the past few months and according to claims from Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Mark Hughes’ men have had a £22m package deal accepted.

It’s also stated that, according to a Sky Source, Maddison is favouring a move to Saints instead of Leicester, with the Foxes having also had the same offer accepted.

However, it appears that this may not be the case, with Claude Puel’s Leicester side edging ever closer to the completion of a deal for Maddison.
It’s claimed by the Telegraph’s John Percy that Maddison will have a medical at the King Power Stadium imminently, with Leicester and Norwich agreeing on a deal worth around £25m.

Southampton will likely make efforts to persuade Maddison away from the grasp of Leicester, but it seems they are trailing their fellow Premier League competitors in the race for his signature despite making a club-record bid.
