Southampton’s pursuit of Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer has been well documented in recent times.
The Saints want to add further attacking quality to the ranks this summer as they bid to enjoy a more comfortable season in the Premier League after narrowly avoiding the drop last term.
Alcacer, who has been linked with a move to St Mary’s Stadium for some time now, has emerged as a potential target for Saints once again, with Fenerbahce also noted as suitors for the Spaniard.

Reports have previously indicated that Saints would be willing to spend up to €20 million on the acquisition of the player but fresh claims from Spain indicate that this may be insufficient.
According to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport this week, as translated and reported by Sport Witness, Barcelona are demanding a sum of €30m (£26.3m) for their backup striker.
It’s believed that Alcacer will be allowed to leave Barca this summer but it seems Southampton, among other interested parties, will need to break the bank if they are to lure him away from Camp Nou.
