Italian giants Inter Milan have reportedly made a huge bid worth €47 million for Southampton target Quincy Promes.
According to reports from the Russian media, the Netherlands international has emerged as a top target for Inter and they are keen to push through a deal for the player this summer.
Southampton made strong efforts to recruit Promes from Spartak Moscow in January and even saw a club-record bid worth £25m turned down by the Russian side.
It was initially believed that the Saints would reignite their interest in the player this summer, with Promes having apparently been keen on the mid-season switch. However, they will face immense competition for his signature, with reports from Russia now indicating that Inter have stolen a march in the race for his signature.
The claims also list Tottenham Hotspur, Sampdoria and Newcastle as potential suitors for Promes, who is set to consider his future at Spartak ahead of next season.
Southampton are out to strengthen their attacking options but unless they smash their transfer record this summer, Inter could be the club that lands Promes.
