Southampton forward Olufela Olomola has joined League One outfit Scunthorpe United on a three-year deal.
Olomola spent time on loan in League Two last season with Yeovil Town, where he scored a respectable total of seven goals in 28 first-team appearances.
The 20-year-old striker made one senior appearance for Saints, as he came on in the team’s narrow 1-0 win over Sunderland in the EFL Cup in the 2016/17 season under Claude Puel.
Olomola joins Scunthorpe, who will be hoping for another promotion push next season. The Iron recently lost out 4-2 on aggregate in the League One play-offs to Rotherham United and will be out to make up for their shortcomings next term.
Southampton appear to be set to offload some of their young players this summer, with defender Will Wood also heading out of the exit door at St Mary’s.
Olomola will be desperate to secure his place in the first-team at Scunthorpe as he bids to test himself at a high level in senior football.
