Lyon are looking to sell defender Mouctar Diakhaby, amid interest from Southampton and Spanish side Valencia, according to L’Equipe, as cited on Get French Football.
The 21-year-old has played 21 times for Lyon this year as they managed to finish in third place in Ligue 1.
But due to the defender’s injury problems and inconsistent performances, Lyon are prepared to let the defender leave.
The centre-back has played for France at under-21 level eight times but is yet to make an appearance for the first team.
His impressive form in the Lyon youth team earned him a place in the first team in 2016 when he made his debut against Bordeaux.
Southampton are looking to improve their team after only just managing to escape relegation from the Premier League but it will be a tough task if they are going to beat Valencia to Diakhaby’s signature as the La Liga side have the bonus of Champions League football.
