Bristol City have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Sam McQueen from Southampton this summer.
According to claims from the Mirror, the Championship outfit are making contingency plans ahead of the likely departure of Joe Bryan, with a host of Premier League clubs eyeing a move for the player.
Bryan was excellent throughout the 2017/18 campaign and it’s likely that a move to the top-flight will await for him this summer with Burnley, Everton and Aston Villa all touted as potential destinations.

McQueen has seen opportunities in Saints’ first-team plans limited throughout the season but was brought on as a substitute in the closing stages of the team’s final two games by Mark Hughes.
Southampton will have three left-backs on the books ahead of next season with Matt Targett currently set to return following a loan spell at Fulham. Ryan Bertrand, however, will be allowed to leave the club if an appropriate offer is submitted.
McQueen progressed through Saints’ academy and broke into the first-team last season. However, it appears as though he may have the chance to leave the club this summer, with Lee Johnson’s side reportedly keen.
