Bologna make Gabbiadini priority target

Serie A side Bologna have made Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini a priority target for the summer window.

According to Calcio Mercato, Bologna are set to step up their interest in the Italian as they look to improve their attack ahead of next season.

Gabbiadini has struggled to find a consistent run of games in the Southampton side, having been out of favour under former manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

He started Mark Hughes’ first game in charge of Saints, against Wigan in the FA Cup, but missed a penalty.

The Italian international was an unused substitute in their 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.

With Southampton looking set for relegation to the Championship, Gabbiadini is likely to look for a move away from the club.

Gabbiadini has been touted with a move back to the Serie A for months now and Bologna are hoping to steal a march on their rivals and sign the forward.
