Southampton are in talks to sign Guido Carrilo from Ligue 1 side Monaco this month.
According to The Daily Mail, Southampton have opened discussions with Monaco in an attempt to bring the striker to England.
The Saints are looking to strengthen their attacking options this month and have been heavily-linked with a move for Theo Walcott, though recent reports claim he is looking for a switch to Italy.
Mauricio Pellegrino worked with Carrillo at Estudiantes when they were both at the club, before they moved onto the European scene.

Carrillo has scored four goals in 19 games this season for Monaco, with only 17 goals in 90 games since joining the French side.
The striker scored 42 goals in 141 games for Estudiantes before his move to France.
The report claims that it will take £17m to prize him away from Monaco this month, which would make him one of the most expensive signings in Southampton’s history.
