Saints interested in PSV youngster Steven Bergwijn
Southampton are keeping an eye on young PSV winger Steven Bergwijn, along with fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, Voetbal International report.
Both clubs aren’t afraid of dipping into the Dutch market to bring in players, with Southampton bringing in Jordy Clasie and Spurs signing Vincent Janssen and Davinson Sanchez in recent seasons.
Bergwijn, 20, has impressed for PSV so far this season during his seven appearances, finding the back of the net twice and helping his side reach the top of the Eredivisie after seven rounds of fixtures.
There has also been interest from Torino in Serie A, so the Saints will have to act quick in January if they are to pursue their attempts to bring the Netherlands Under-21 international to St Mary’s.
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic and Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe are also monitoring the forward’s progress, however, it seems Southampton and Spurs are the two clubs at the front of the queue in the possibility of landing Bergwijn in the Premier League.
