Southampton Sell Out South Coast Derby as Ticket Exchange Opens

Southampton have sold out all general admission tickets for their upcoming October fixture against Portsmouth, prompting the club to immediately activate the official resale platform.

The Hampshire rivals meet at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday, October 11 in a midday kick-off following the international break. Tonda Eckert’s side are looking to capitalise on their formidable home form and end a two-decade wait for a home derby victory.

Saints remain unbeaten on home soil this season, recently dispatching Bristol City 4-1. They are chasing their first St Mary’s victory over Pompey since 2005, having played out two draws against their neighbours during the previous campaign.

Ticket Exchange and Stadium Security

Supporters unable to attend can list their seats on the exchange, with buyers required to have a booking history between the 2020/21 and 2025/26 seasons. Hospitality packages remain the only alternative route for fans without standard tickets.

Much like the nearby Utilita Bowl anticipating a sold-out international crowd, St Mary’s is preparing for a capacity attendance.

Visiting supporters are restricted to an allocation of 2,500 and must travel using a mandatory bubble transport system.

The club will enforce strict, randomised ID checks at the turnstiles to combat unauthorised ticket transfers. Anyone found with a ticket not matching their identification will be denied entry on matchday.
