Leganes appear to be nearing an agreement regarding a second loan move for Guido Carrillo, and it’s a big boost for Southampton.
According to claims from Marca, the La Liga club would like the striker to return for the 2019/20 campaign, and they are edging ever closer to tying up another temporary deal.
Southampton are, as per the claims from the Spanish media, demanding a fee worth €10 million for their club-record signing. However, a loan with an option to buy could be on the cards, with Leganes insisting that any deal would have to be initially on a temporary basis.
Previous reports suggested that they had moved on to other targets, having grown frustrated by their pursuit of Carrillo failing to materialise.
However, it seems as though Mauricio Pellegrino is still determined to land his man for the second season in a row, with Southampton keen to get him off their books.

It’s quite a relief that Leganes are set to sign Carrillo again, actually. It seems Boca Juniors have moved on, with Franco Soldano arriving from Olympiakos, and a return to Spain appears to be the only feasible outcome for the 28-year-old now.
Carrillo is not in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans. Saints have Danny Ings, Che Adams, Shane Long and Michael Obafemi as their attacking options, and I’d personally be more inclined to give Dan N’Lundulu opportunities instead of the club-record signing.
With Carrillo not in first-team training, likely earning a significant wage, and totally surplus to requirements, Saints simply must get rid. A loan exit would not be ideal, but it’s better than nothing.
