Southampton look set to miss out on Troyes attacking midfielder Bryan Mbeumo as Brentford are reportedly close to signing the Frenchman.
According to Sky Sports via French outlet L’Equipe, the Bees have agreed an initial €4million deal with the Ligue 2 outfit, and the fee expected to rise in add ons.
Saints and Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg have both previously shown an interest in the 19-year-old, and reports last month suggested the pair had respective bids rejected by Troyes.

Mbeumo was an important figure for the French side last season, scoring 11 goals and creating four assists as Troyes pushed for promotion back to Ligue 1.
Interest in the teenager is reportedly high, with the likes of Schalke, Bordeaux and Strasbourg all said to be keen on a move for Mbeumo.
However, Brentford now appear to be the frontrunners in the race to land the attacking midfielder in a deal worth an initial €4million.
