Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber has denied that Southampton have approached him to replace Les Reed.
The former Huddersfield Town chief has been heavily linked with a move to St Mary’s Stadium in recent times as the Saints aim to continue their reshaping of the infrastructure at the club.
Webber has overseen plenty of change at Carrow Road with Norwich but has reaped the rewards of his hard work this term.
The Canaries are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Championship following a good run of form, orchestrated by manager Daniel Farke.

The sporting director was in attendance for Norwich’s AGM on Thursday night and was quizzed over speculation surrounding his future. As quoted by the Eastern Daily Press’ Group Football Editor Paddy Davitt, Webber was quick to deny the rumours linking him with the Southampton job. He said:
No, I’m happy to answer it. I had no approach. I wouldn’t welcome it. I am happy to be here.
Southampton have been linked with moves for other sporting directors to replace the recently-dismissed Reed, such as Leicester City’s Eduardo Macia and RB Leipzig’s Paul Mitchell.
