After Read Southampton broke the story that Saints had enquired about Norwich winger Nathan Redmond four weeks ago, The Mirror has also reported that the club are set to launch an £8 million bid for the young Englishman.
It is believed that he is being pursued as a replacement for Senegalese star, Sadio Mane who is expected to move either Liverpool or Manchester United.
With Norwich having been recently relegated to the Championship, Redmond will be wanting to move back to a Premier League team where he can continue his promising career. The Norfolk club will also be needing to sell him for a lower price than they would have liked to, due to their relegation.
However, it remains to be seen whether an £8 million bid will be accepted for the winger who scored six goals last season. Saints will have to fend off competition Stoke and West Brom to land Redmond.
