It was recently reported that Southampton would consider a summer swoop for Ostersunds manager Graham Potter, with Mauricio Pellegrino set to be axed at the end of the season.
The young Englishman has been earning plenty of plaudits with his superb managerial journey at the Swedish side and this appears to have caught the attention of clubs in Potter’s homeland, if reports are to be believed.
Potter is now hot property, with West Brom said to have been interested in landing him to replace Alan Pardew. However, Ostersunds refused to negotiate a move away for their bright young coach, and Southampton will face the same answer if they are to pursue their former player.

In an interview with Swedish news outlet Fotbolldirekt, Ostersunds’ club chairman Daniel Kindberg addressed the reports that Potter could be Saints-bound and simply laughed them off.
Haha, I’ve heard that for the past four years! I think it’s common sense that there are rumours because no one has heard of us. In my eyes, this speculation is quite noisy.
Kindberg was certain that Potter would remain at the club for the foreseeable future, ending any apparent hope that Saints had of appointing the boss in the summer.
No, I really do not think so. I’m not dealing with speculation, it’s what others can do.
Potter will hope to continue making waves across Europe with his astute management of of the Swedish outfit.
