According to reports in France today, Southampton have recently met with Rachid Ghezzal’s entourage ahead of a possible move.
The tricky Algerian wide man is looking primed to finally secure a move away from the Ligue 1 side this season, following his release from Lyon at the end of the season. He opted to see out his deal at the club despite their wishes to extend his stay.
Southampton were linked with a move for Ghezzal last summer, like many other Premier League sides, but no move ended up materialising.

However, according to L’Equipe (h/t Sport Witness), both Stoke City and Saints have been in contact since then with the player’s representatives.
Monaco appear to be leading the race for the impressive winger and it’s stated by L’Equipe that Saints haven’t been blown away by the meeting they had with Ghezzal’s entourage, as such.
Mauricio Pellegrino is keen to secure at least one more signing this summer, and Ghezzal could very well be a man under consideration.
