According to France Football journalist Thierry Marchand on this evening’s edition of L’Equipe du Soir, Southampton have lined up Thomas Tuchel to replace Claude Puel.
Marchand claims that Tuchel is “in pole position” to land the Southampton job as Puel’s position at the club becomes increasingly scrutinised.

Tuchel was relieved of his duties at Borussia Dortmund today after disagreements with those higher in the hierarchy at the club, meaning that he is currently without a job.
Puel’s future at Saints hangs in the balance but has reportedly been made Saint-Etienne’s number one target as they look to replace the now-departed Christophe Galtier.
Tuchel’s dismissal at Dortmund was rather harsh and given his coaching quality and reputation, it’d be a huge move for Saints if they are to appoint a manager of his calibre, but only time will tell as Puel’s future seems yet to be resolved.
