According to The Daily Echo, Andre Villas-Boas is out of the running to become the next Southampton manager.
The report claims that Villas-Boas’ agent has ruled him out of joining Southampton, with his client to take a six-month hiatus from football management – similar to that of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

Villas-Boas had been touted with the Southampton job, although has never been mentioned as one of the favourites, meaning this is unlikely to be a big blow for the club.
The 38-year-old manager left Zenit St Petersburg at the end of last season, meaning that he is now a free agent. However, instead of taking up a new job, he is looking to take a break from football.
Southampton are soon to have a vacant manager’s position due to Ronald Koeman’s impending move to Everton. Koeman is set to officially join Everton next week when he returns from his holiday.
