Southampton surrendered a two-goal lead against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, and many Saints supporters were left unimpressed by winger Moussa Djenepo.
The 22-year-old was handed a sixth Premier League start this season against the Red Devils, with Jan Bednarek and James Ward-Prowse handing Ralph Hasehnuttl’s side a healthy advantage at the break.
Bruno Fernandes pulled a goal back for the visitors early in the second half, with Djenepo replaced by Shane Long with 18 minutes remaining.
Edinson Cavani equalised shortly after Long’s arrival, with the Uruguayan heading home in stoppage time to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side all three points.
Djenepo lost possession 17 times at St Mary’s and completed just 21 passes – only forwards Theo Walcott and Chee Adams completed fewer. [SofaScore]
