Angus Gunn joined Stoke City on a season-long loan earlier this month.
However, the 24-year-old, who joined the club back in 2018 from Manchester City in a deal worth £13.5million, hasn’t featured for the Potters yet.
Although Gunn is yet to appear in the second-tier, recent reports have hinted that his stint with Stoke could last longer than first anticipated.
According to The Sun on Sunday, cited by The Boot Room, The Saints would be willing to loan the player out to Stoke again next season, should he impress during the current campaign.

Gunn would’ve been hoping to have slotted straight into Michael O’Neill’s side, however, it looks like he’ll have to bide his time and wait for an opportunity.
Adam Davies is first-choice so far, with Alex McCarthy number one under Ralph Hasenhuttl on the south coast.
Gunn will be hoping that his chance isn’t too far away, and you never know, if he impresses in Staffordshire, Southampton may rethink their stance on the shot-stopper ahead of the 2021/22 season.
