Crystal Palace, have according to Football Insider, set their sights on capturing the signature of £8million-valued Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed.
The Eagles, however, face competition from newly-promoted Fulham, who want to sign the 25-year old on a permanent basis after he enjoyed a successful loan spell at Craven Cottage last season.
Reed is now in the final 12 months of his deal at St. Marys, making it difficult for the club to demand a top price for the midfielder.

With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set to join Tottenham, there is space in the squad for an additional central midfielder, however, it is likely Ralph Hasenhuttl will look to bring in a replacement from outside the current squad as opposed to using Reed.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson is said an admirer of Reed, who has been capped at Under 20 level by England. Hodgson has apparently been impressed at how well he adapted to playing in an anchorman role at Fulham during their successful promotion-winning campaign this season.
Fulham’s previous agreement could scupper any hopes Palace have of a move for the versatile midfielder as Scott Parker’s side reportedly has an option to buy the player if they so wish, which was included as part of the loan deal.
Reed has spent much of his senior career away from the Saints, having spent the 2018-19 campaign at Blackburn Rovers after a spell at Norwich City
It is believed the club are would be willing to part ways with their academy product this summer for around £8m, a decent price given his lack of top-flight experience and expiring contract.
