Southampton need to make move for Rashica this summer

The agent of Southampton target Milot Rashica has admitted that the player is putting any of his plans for the summer on hold amid league cancellations.

Rashica’s agent, Altin Lala, says that he and his team cannot make any plans for Rashica when asked about a potential transfer, as they just need to sit indoors and wait to see what happens with the Bundesliga.

Speaking to Weser Kurier, Lala said:

One can only wait and see. Nothing can be planned at the moment. You have to stay at home and see what happens.

Weser Kurier reported earlier this year that both Southampton and Liverpool were interested in Rashica, who will be available for £17m if Werder Bremen are relegated from the Bundesliga.

Southampton, however, should look to swoop as quickly as they can in order to snap the forward up. If they wait too long, they could allow Liverpool time to steal a march on them and sign the Kosovo international. So, Southampton need to make an offer soon – even if it means paying slightly more than the £17m they can pay if Bremen go down.

Rashica has been in impressive form for the struggling German outfit this season, with 10 goals and four assists in 24 starts as a wide forward.

He has averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.05, showing that he has been able to produce consistent performances despite Bremen’s plight.

This is why he could be a good addition to Southampton’s squad, adding an extra goal threat from out wide.
