Southampton are reportedly looking to move on Guido Carrillo, Wesley Hoedt, Mo Elyounoussi and Mario Lemina in the summer.
According to The Telegraph, Southampton want to sell all four players at the end of the season as they aim to trim their wage bill.
The report claims that they are four of the club’s highest earners, despite all of them currently being out on loan.

If they are four of the highest earners at the club, it makes sense for Southampton to sell them at the end of the season. If they are not good enough to be in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad now, why should they be making the most money?
Hoedt, Carrillo, Lemina and Elyounoussi were all deemed surplus to requirements last summer and were shipped out on loan, suggesting that Hasenhuttl did not rate them enough to compete for a place in his side.
It could be a smart move by Southampton to sell them permanently, as it would allow them to get rid of players they have no need for whilst also adding to their own transfer budget in order to strengthen the current squad. It will now be interesting to see who is interested in signing any of them and if Southampton will even be able to sell. The Saints could be forced to send them out on loan again if no suitors are keen on permanent deals – due to their potential high wages.
This means that Southampton will need to hope that they can impress whilst out on loan between now and the end of the season. If they are all able to catch the eye whilst out on loan, it could convince teams to make a move for them in the summer to snap them up.
