Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that Stuart Armstrong will be unavailable for Southampton’s clash with Liverpool on Saturday.
The Scot looks set to miss out on the clash with the Reds, with Hasenhuttl confirming that confirming that Armstrong is set to be out for two to three weeks with a hip injury.
Hasenhuttl said:
Stuart [Armstrong] is injured and cannot train at the moment. It’ll take two to three weeks, I think, until he’s back in the team. It’s not the worst but he has a little bit of a problem with his hip muscles so he is out.
This means that Armstrong could potentially miss out on several key games for the Saints, with clashes with Burnley, Aston Villa and West Ham United all coming up.
Southampton are in some great form at the minute, winning five of their last seven in the league, but will face a tough test when they face the Premier League leaders who are yet to lose so far this season in the league.
Several Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to share their opinions about the injury, with a lot being pessimistic about their side’s chances this weekend.
