Southampton striker Danny Ings is enjoying the form of his life in the English Premier League, so far scoring 14 times for the saints. Ings form has not gone unnoticed, and former Aston Villa and England international Darren Bent is sounding out Gareth Southgate to consider the in-form striker for an international call-up.

Another potential loss in the shape of Jamie Vardy is imminent. The Premier League’s top scorer was withdrawn in their 4-1 win over Westham on Wednesday, but his manager Brendan Rogers has eased the obvious fears saying he does not think it is a serious injury.

Danny Ings has only one England cap under his belt, coming on as a late substitute for Harry Kane in the 2016 Euro qualifiers against Lithuania. He has made thirteen appearances for England U21 under Southgate, scoring four goals.
