Leeds United have reportedly named Sheffield United’s Billy Sharp as an alternative attacking option.
That’s according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who claim that Sharp is being considered by the Whites, who are keen to avoid a repeat of the Daniel James saga 12 months ago.
Their main target is Southampton’s Che Adams, however, the Saints are reluctant to part ways with the 23-year-old before adding to their own attacking ranks.

Leeds’ reported interest in Sharp made its way across social media on Wednesday, however, these Whites supporters would still prefer Adams at Elland Road.
Twitter: @FrenchieLUFC @kylewilson1989 @Johnleeds77 I wouldn’t mind sharp but yh I would prefer Adams as he’s only 23 (@Owen58324782)
Twitter: Che Adams would do. Am not sure Billy Sharp could play Bielsa ball. https://t.co/EOZ5p0euoB (@glynnlufc)
Twitter: @RyanLUFC91 I really hope we sign Adams, but don’t want us to re-sign Sharp #lufc (@ConnorMOT92)
Twitter: @GrahamSmyth Adams has to be priority, sharp a worth back-up, he can finish anything in the box. (@James_Beeton)

Adams has failed to find the back of the net under Ralph Hasenhuttl in the Premier League in 15 appearances, with his top-flight goal drought lasting 634 minutes, via Whoscored.com.
Compare that to his record in the Championship last season and the difference is staggering.
He netted 22 times in 3,740 minutes of second-tier action, averaging a goal every 170 minutes, via Whoscored.com.
We feel as if a loan to work under Marcelo Bielsa for the second half of the season would be just what he needs to regain some much-needed confidence, and if a deal goes through, these Leeds fans will be very happy.
