When The Athletic’s Phil Hay posts on social media regarding transfers, Leeds United fans listen.
And the reliable reporter has provided an update on the Whites’ pursuit of Southampton forward Che Adams.
Hay replied to an enquiry on Twitter on Tuesday, confirming Leeds are still hoping to bring the 23-year-old to Elland Road.
Plenty of Whites supporters were quick to reply to the post, however, many are fearing a repeat of the Daniel James saga from 12 months ago.

Read Southampton verdict
The Saints are hoping to add to their attacking ranks, with Le Havre striker Tino Kadewere thought to be a target for Ralph Hasenhuttl.
A move to Yorkshire for Adams would probably only materialise if Southampton can bring in a forward, so there’s every chance that Leeds could be made to wait for his services.
They targeted James from Swansea 12 months ago and seemingly had a deal tied up, however, chiefs from South Wales pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute and the Whites were left without a January outfield addition.
Of course, they’ll be hoping Southampton can bring in a striker to give them the green light for Adams, and the striker, statistically, appears to be a perfect addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Eddie Nketiah’s loan in Yorkshire didn’t work out, but Adams, with his physical edge and prolific 34-goal second-tier tally, via Whoscored.com, could be the man the Whites need to help them back into the Premier League.
