uEarlier this week, it was reported that Leeds United were interested in signing Southampton’s Che Adams on loan in January, and those reports had plenty of United fans excited.
However, the reliable Daily Echo have now reported that Saints have no interest in letting Adams leave in January as they don’t want to be left short of forwards for the second half of the season.
As it stands, Saints only have four senior strikers in thier squad; Danny Ings, Shane Long, Adams and Michael Obafemi.
Of those players, Ings has a history of injuries, Long is entering the twilight of his career and had picked up a few injuries recently too, whilst Obafemi is a young player and it would be hard to rely on him to play every week.
As such, Saints have no intentions to let Adams go, so Leeds will need to look elsewhere for their replace Eddie Nketiah, who is set to be recalled by Arsenal.

The reports linking Adams with a move never made sense and Saints fans will be glad to see him staying at St Mary’s.
Saints are still very much in a relegation battle and they’ll need all the firepower they can get over the next few months as they aim to stay in the Premier League.
