Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills has backed his former club to sign Southampton forward Che Adams on loan in January.
Arsenal look like they will soon be recalling Eddie Nketiah from his loan spell at Leeds United and as such, the Championship side look like they’ll be bringing in a replacement.
According to a report from Football Insider last week, Leeds are interested in taking Adams on loan and when a reported from the same website spoke to Mills about a possible move, he said it would make sense for his former club.
He said:
Leeds may have struggled over the last couple of games to put the ball in the back of the net, so he’d be ideal. As a Premier League club they are likely to loan him out and let him go, may pay a portion of his wages as well, so it seems like the perfect and ideal situation. Also, it’ll be a good opportunity for him, to come to a big club, perform week-in-week-out, get some goals and get back on the scoresheet.

Whether Leeds make a move for Adams remains to be seen and even if they do, there are no guarantees that Saints would let him leave.
Saints do have a few forward options in Danny Ings, Shane Long and Michael Obafemi but Adams was brought in for a reason and although he’s flattered to deceive so far at St Mary’s, there is still time for him to turn things around.
However, Saints may allow him to go out on loan if Ralph Hasenhuttl has no plans to pick the forward in games as him sitting on the bench and not playing will not be doing anybody any good.
