Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that Mohamed Elyounoussi has suffered a setback in his recovery from an injury problem.
The Norway international has been working his way back to fitness in recent weeks and made his return in the Hoops’ 1-0 win over Rangers in the Betfred Cup final.
However, Elyounoussi did not look quite up to speed, and Lennon opted to take him off at half-time.
The Southampton loanee has been managed carefully since the victory over Rangers, with Lennon confirming, as per Celtic TV, that he may need a ‘little bit longer’ on the sidelines. He said:
He might be out for a little bit longer. It’s going to take a bit of time to settle that down.

Elyounoussi had a blistering start to life at Celtic, and it was a shame to see him sustain an injury after such a bright introduction.
The winger has been in fine form since departing Southampton and appears to have settled in extremely well under Lennon.
Saints will hope to make back a large chunk of the £16 million that they paid for him in 2018 should they decide to cash in when the summer transfer window rolls around.
Alternatively, if he continues to impress, he may yet get another chance in the Premier League…
