Che Adams is likely to have plenty of potential suitors in the Championship if Southampton decide to loan him out.
According to Brian Dick, the Birmingham City correspondent for Birmingham Live, the 23-year-old would be wanted by ‘half’ of the second tier if there is a chance of him departing St Mary’s in January.
Adams has been used sparingly by Ralph Hasenhuttl in recent weeks and is yet to find the back of the net since his £15 million move to the club in the summer.

Whether or not Saints would want to offload him midway through the season is unclear, but Dick writes for Birmingham Live that he would not be short of Championship interest if he is keen to drop down a division for regular game time.
Dick said:
The first point is I don’t think Ralph Hasenhuttl is ready to send him out – he’s been bringing him off the bench recently.
However, if Hasenhuttl goes, which seems possible, that might change everything. The successor could decide Che needs some games back in the Championship.
If they get to that point, the issue then becomes competition. I’ve been told that half the league would want to bring him in, so he’ll have his pick of options.

And then there’s the wages. He went to Southampton for around £50k a week, so clearly they’d have to underwrite some of that for Blues [if they were keen to re-sign Adams].
Read Southampton’s verdict
Adams shouldn’t be loaned out in January. He deserves more opportunities than he is currently being given by Hasenhuttl.
Understandably, Danny Ings is the first-choice striker, but given the shortcomings of Southampton’s other attackers this season, there is no reason why Adams is not worthy of more game time.
Coming on for a few minutes at the end of matches is doing nothing for his confidence, nor his adaptation to the Premier League. Hopefully, he is given sufficient chances to prove himself in the upcoming games.
