Former Southampton man Claus Lundekvam has given his thoughts on how the Saints can turn their season around.
The former defender believes that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have what it takes to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Saints are currently in 19th place in the table and have the worst defensive record in the top flight and Lundekvam has urged the team to start fighting for the cause.
As quoted on the Daily Echo, he said:
I think we have more than enough quality in the squad to pick up enough points to stay in the Premier League, without a doubt.
But it comes down to the hunger and the heart of the players. Only they can determine whether we stay up or not. It’s about how much they want it. We need more of the determination we showed at Man City where we played a heroic game and led for 80 minutes.
That sort of team effort and togetherness and hunger and passion is what’s needed.
Is Lundekvam right?

Absolutely. There needs to be more fight and passion from the players and then hopefully the results will start to come.
In the 9-0 loss to Leicester, there was no fight, no pride, no desire on display and that was the most worrying thing.
However, the team needs to pull together and start playing as a group rather than individuals, starting with Arsenal this weekend.
